Hope you all had a nice Christmas 🙂
A lot of things are going to change for the Project in the New Year. One of them involves a Facebook page (gasp).
If you have artwork, photography or news about local causes that you think deserve more publicity, please get in touch. I’d like the Facebook page to be vibrant and colourful as well as inspire thought.
Another aspect of the Page that I would really like to add is inspirational messages.
If there is someone in your life (mother, daughter, friend, sister, teacher, lover, wife, cousin, etc.) who has said something that touched you, or given you advice that you’ve never forgotten, please send them in! I’d love to make them into eCards and upload them to the page. Like those “famous quote” cards you see, only it would have more meaning because it was something someone had said to you.
Guidelines (for photographs/artwork):
- It’s preferable that contributions to the Facebook page are related to women/women’s rights; humanitarianism or charity in some way. So for example, you might have a photograph of you and your friends at a vday march, or you may have hosted a Cancer Research party at your home and would like to share some images; maybe you’re an aspiring documentary photographer and you have a poignant moment caught on film.
- You don’t have to be a woman to submit images/artwork/news, as long as it adheres to the above requirement: upliftment, inspiration, encouragement, action.
That’s it for now! I had wanted to make a Facebook page for a long time, but I just didn’t know what I would be able to update it with on a regular basis. But I guess I’ve been inspired now..
Please send your contributions to the usual address: email@example.com
The Facebook page won’t be live until the second week of January, to give everyone time to send things in for the launch.
